Ben Crandell of IMG is one of the top up and coming tennis agents in the world. He already represent young American star Ryan Harrison and Russian Vera Zvonareva. He added 17 year old Liam Broady of Great Britain to his stable.
When Crandell calls or texts Broady, his young client picks up the phone.
On Saturday Crandell texted Broady and told him that Rafael Nadal wanted to hit with him on Saturday morning in Ashe before his match with Andy Murray. Tough to say no to either Crandell or Nadal. The young Brit answered with a resounding yes and there he was at 11:15,a scant 45 minutes before Roger Federer was to take on Novak Djokovic, hitting on Ashe in front of a few thousand early arriving fans. Broady looked liked he belonged.
He hit with Nadal at Wimbledon this year and has hit with his idol, Andy Murray.
Broady won the 2010 Junior doubles at Wimbledon with fellow Brit, Tom Farquharson.
Broady fell in the Junior Singles and Doubles at the Open this year, his last year of playing junior events.
He enjoys playing in the States and especially enjoys watching American football and the Steelers. he finds baseball to be boring.
His goal, as that of many juniors is to be no. 1 in the world, but he will take top 10. Based on the company he keeps,it may not take too long.
